Don’t rely on ready-made advice. You have to discover for yourself what helps you in life and what harms you.

How to rebuild a broken career in 5 simply steps? How to pick up a handsome guy? How to increase your self-esteem and assertiveness? To improve our lives and careers, many of us reach for self-help books. This seems right, because why come to the right solutions by trial and error, when you can benefit from other people’s experience? But on the other hand — how can we be sure that the advice and success stories from the guidebooks of Tony Robbins, Brian Tracy and many other self-development gurus will help us get promoted faster, get richer or increase our ratings on the matrimonial market?

Life’s stumbling blocks are felt painfully and for a long time. Therefore, it is better to spend three hours on a book than to test a new idea on ourselves. The experiences, successes and failures of the authors or heroes of guidebooks often shed new light on our problems. They are the ones who have reached a place that we, for the time being, only dream about. If we are inspired by their achievements, the path of wealth, fame and happiness will be easy. Or maybe not at all?
